Saguaro National Park - Pima County, Arizona

Saguaro National Park is a national park in Pima County, southeastern Arizona. The 92,000-acre park consists of two separate areas—the Tucson Mountain District (TMD) about 10 miles west of the city of Tucson and the Rincon Mountain District about 10 miles east of the city—that preserve Sonoran Desert landscape, fauna, and flora, including the giant saguaro cactus.

Popular activities in the park include hiking on its 165 miles of trails and sightseeing along paved roads near its two visitor centers. Both districts allow bicycling and horseback riding on selected roads and trails. The Rincon Mountain District offers limited wilderness camping, but there is no overnight camping in the Tucson Mountain District.

Wildlife to expect include roadrunners, horned lizards, Gila monsters, kangaroo rats, and collared peccaries are all seen regularly by visitors.

This national park is tucked in adjacent to the City of Tuscon and offers two different parks: the Tuscon and Rincon Mountain Districts. Both areas offer visitor centers, restroom facilities, nice picnic and grill areas, and plenty of hiking trails. Bring plenty of water and sunscreen as this park has very little shade. This is another park you go out of your way to visit.
